About Studio 46
EDMOND — A new weekly podcast — Studio 46 — will explore politics, economics and community life in Edmond and the metro area, providing relevant information to those who listen, developers said.
The Studio 46 podcast is a co-production of The Edmond Sun and the Academy for Leadership & Liberty at Oklahoma Christian University.
Listeners will hear from a panel of notable local business professionals and civic leaders discussing topical news stories and events, said Edmond Sun Publisher Steve Paterson. The podcasts also will feature special guests. New podcasts air each Friday.
Paterson said the idea for Studio 46 came from conversations with Brian Bush, executive director of OC’s Academy of Leadership & Liberty, about how to connect information about vision, communication and leadership with the community.
“We thought it would be a natural transition to look at podcasting,” Paterson said.
Bush said OC has the facilities to produce the podcast, and the Studio 46 production team is working hard to provide the content the community needs. Locals may submit input by sending e-mail to studio46@oc.edu.
Studio 46 topics will directly address the local business climate either in Edmond or Oklahoma County, Paterson said.
Bush said the 45-minute podcasts will provide unprecedented amounts of information and access to the issues and leaders that affect Oklahoma. Topics range from local school district issues to challenges at the state Capitol and national political discussions, he said.
“I want to encourage readers to join us for Studio 46 because it will provide depth, insight and discussion of the issues in a format that can also be entertaining,” Bush said.
Studio 46 fits the Academy’s mission to uphold, teach and strengthen the values that undergird liberty, free enterprise and servant leadership, Bush said.
The American system of government reserves the power to the people because the people are best suited to provide solutions to the problems Americans face, Bush said. The most effective solutions can only be achieved when Americans have access to the information they need, he said.
“Studio 46 is striving to provide that information, to be a forum for discussing the issues from all angles, and to provide an opportunity to then reach a comprehensive solution together,” Bush said.
